The North Area Round Table (NART) is a forum for interest-based collaboration that was created by SAFCA as an outreach effort for the North Area Local Project. The NART was established to identify opportunities for improving flood control facilities in the North Area while protecting and enhancing existing environmental and recreational resources in open space corridors along Steelhead Creek, Dry Creek, Robla Creek, Magpie Creek and Arcade Creek. These open space corridors include the City of Sacramento’s Ueda Parkway.
As many residents know, the parkways that are emerging in the North Area are critical flood conveyance corridors and are becoming important environmental and recreational amenities to the surrounding communities. These open space corridors will become part of a 70-mile parkway loop that include the American River Parkway and Sacramento County’s Dry Creek Parkway.
Representation on the Round Table includes both governmental agencies and local non-governmental stakeholders. To allow for greater dissemination of information the NART has been changed from quarterly meetings to a semi-annual newsletter.
